Food Matching Note :
Enjoy with shepherd's pie, veal cutlets, or creamy mushroom and prosciutto pasta.
Tasting Note :
Bright medium red on the rim with a darker centre. Loads of lifted maraschino cherry notes on the nose, typical of fresh youthful Grenache. Delightful mouth filling soft fruit on the palate.
Vinification Note :
Although originally planted to make fortified wines, Grenache has evolved to find a new and important role in Barossa dry red making, often blended with Shiraz and/ or Mourvèdre in the classic Rhone blend or presented on its own as a lively, lighter style of red wine that makes for perfect summer sipping, especially when lightly chilled. Grenache is an ideal variety for this lighter style wines with a palate packed with fresh juicy raspberry and cherry fruit flavours, finishing with spicy clean acidity. Selected from premium Grenache vineyards in the Barossa. Fermented in static stainless steel tanks & given seven days skin contact. No oak maturation – the aim being to produce a fresh, flavoursome wine.

Peter Lehmann has been awarded the prestigious ‘Winemaker of the Year’ trophy at the International Wine and Spirit Competition in both 2003 and 2006.
