Soft, red fruit flavours abound on the palate with a crisp freshness that is both balanced and versatile. This wine makes delicious summer drinking.
Vinification Note :
The method for producing rose wine is somewhere between that for white and red. The colour in rose wine must come from red grapes (although it can be blended with a white grape afterwards in some circumstances), and its source is during the maceration period of fermentation. As the red grapes are fermenting, in contact with the skins, they begin to release the colour and tannin from the grapes. After around 8 hours or so, some of the juice is run off and as this has only had a short period of time in contact with the skins it is only lightly coloured. The resulting rose juice is then fermented dry, separately to the rest of the red juice. The longer the time in contact with the skins the deeper the blush.
